The Sordid Underbelly of Fame

The afternoon of January 22nd, coincidently the day of my birth, was a black mark on the ever plundering Hollywood scene. Our society embraced Heath Ledger's death with shock and awe that has not been felt in other celebrity endinngs. The 28yr old aussie carried an austere appearance, and introverted personality unlike the rest of Hollywood's "it" crowd. He seemed like a genuine guy, a great dad even. Why did Hollywood have to get him too? It seems that stardom has become a dark and dangerous place that consumes even the most grounded actors. I think this tragedy might be a cry for something to change. Whether it is the relentless paparrazi, or endless pressure from fans, somethings gotta give. It would be a shame for another Hollywood child like 2year old Matilda Rose Ledger to go fatherless.
