One test found that 91% of children over 6 recognized Joe Camel, similar to the recognition results of those who identified Mickey Mouse. Another report showed shocking statistics that since the induction of Joe Camel into the Tobacco industry, the share of the market under 18 had risen at least 30%. The thing that pissed off mothers, and anti-drug companies, was the fact that Old Joe went from a sophisticated character to a youngster hanging out at pool halls, and bars(even with a backward baseball cap). So, Joe went bye-bye.
